The Secular Franciscan Order (SFO) (formerly called the Third Order of St. Francis) is an Order within the Catholic Church, a community of men and women who are called to holiness, to live the gospel
of the Lord in prayer and service inspired by the life of St. Francis of Assisi.
“The SFO enables
the Franciscan charism to be lived out by married and single members of the laity, and by diocesan clergy – bishops,
priests and deacons.”
